Angela Nielsen graduated from Utah Valley University with Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Ballet Emphasis in 2017. While attending the university, she danced in two lead roles and was a member of UVU’s Repertory Ballet Ensemble under the direction of Mark Borchelt and Heather Gray. She also choreographed and performed the opening number for Filmed in Utah Awards, danced in Celebrated Voices, started a community ballet school, and was a recipient of UVU’s Connie Reynolds Memorial Scholarship. Angela was awarded UVU's Award of Merit for Ballet in 2018. She believes that the arts are fundamental both in education and life because they foster individual creativity, are a vital part of human communication, teach self-discipline and refinement, and spark the imagination. She currently teaches at Performing Dance Center and is a private dance coach. Angela is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
