Bianca Calderon (she/her) is a Costa Rican emerging choreographer, educator, and dancer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Point Park University with a BFA in Dance with a modern technique concentration complemented by a Public Relations & Advertising BA. She recently finished her first season with SALT2 Contemporary Dance where she worked with artists like Nicole Von Arx, Noelle Kayser, and Courtney Mazeika. She has fortunately been taught by great artists in the industry such as Francisco Gella, Yusha-Marie Sorzano, Judith Leifer, Jason McDole, Rennie Harris, Kiki Lucas, Jae Man Joo, slowdanger, Peter Chu, Jesús Velasco Mondragón, and Matt Luck.
Bianca has received honors with her practice including the National YoungArts Foundation award in Dance & Choreography and showcasing work at PLAYGROUND Dance Project and New Century Dance Project festival in Utah. Through her interest in communications and collaboration, she aims to create and continue building and performing thought-provoking work. She is thankful for her family’s support, passionate and lively country, and the vitality of art for forming them into the artist she is today.
